The Smithfield Rescue Mission works with people in need throughout central and eastern North Carolina, helping them break the cycle of homelessness and addiction. Their mission is “to proclaim the love of Jesus for those who are homeless and in crisis by providing shelter, life necessities, and life changing programs to break the cycle of poverty.”

The rescue mission partners with individuals, churches, and businesses, uniting the local church to care for those hurting and in crisis, thus practicing an integral part of our faith in Jesus Christ–caring for those in need. They do this through their emergency shelter, long-term program, and community outreaches.

Their long-term program, New Life Program, is a Christ-centered and balanced approach to care for people in need that provides encouragement along with accountability. Our program is designed to give men a time and place to break the cycle of homelessness, and the causes of homelessness within a Christ-centered therapeutic community.

Case management, medical assistance, employment preparation, and other services are offered on an individual basis.
