Oak City Church exists to love our neighbor and reach them to know and follow Jesus. One of the ways we show our love is by being active in our community, helping people in need, and showing them the love of Christ. To do this, we have partnered with four different ministries that are serving the community in different ways. Check out the ministries below, and if you’re interested in learning more about how you can help us serve our community, contact Meg Anderson.

Raleigh Dream Center

Raleigh Dream Center

The Raleigh Dream Center is a volunteer driven organization providing social services and community programs to homeless, abused and impoverished high risk youth, individuals and families in the Triangle area. RDC’s primary way of serving the community is through their Adopt-a-Block program. Twice a month in neighborhoods all over Raleigh, RDC knocks on doors, provides groceries for households, plays with children, and has intentional Gospel conversations. It’s family friendly, so kids are welcome. Our desire is to come alongside RDC as they work to build long-lasting relationships in communities. If you’re interested in learning more about how you can help, email Valentina Stubley.

Smithfield Rescue Mission

Smithfield Rescue Mission

The Smithfield Rescue Mission exists to proclaim the love of Jesus to those who are homeless and in need. Their approach is “whole-isitic,” meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of men, women, and children. The rescue mission has a short-term emergency shelter, as well as a long-term program designed to break the cycle of poverty and addiction within a Christ-centered therapeutic community.

Oak City Church partners with SRM through volunteer work days, and meeting needs through donations of goods and services for the people the mission serves. For more information on how you can get involved with the mission, contact Meg Anderson.

Lifeline Children's Services

Lifeline Children's Services

Oak City is excited to be partnering with Lifeline Children’s Services to bring a Families Count™ program to our church. Families Count is a 6-week gospel-centered parenting class offered to parents who are at risk for, or have already had their children placed in foster care. This unique program gives our church the opportunity to help reunite families by providing these parents with a required course for their case plan, along with transportation to and from the class, a meal, childcare, and a voluntary mentoring program, all free of charge. If you’re interested in getting involved in this ministry, email Megan McManus. We are looking for a couple to lead the class, individuals to be mentors, and others to help with meals and childcare.

Pharaoh's Daughter

Pharaoh's Daughter

Pharaoh’s Daughter exists to provide hope for pregnant incarcerated women and their babies in breaking the generational cycle of poverty, incarceration, and recidivism. They do this by caring for babies while their mom is incarcerated, and then caring for the mom and baby after she is released. Caring for the mom and child is tailored to meet individual needs, but often includes providing housing, structure, and family care, as well as childcare, help with schooling and job training, and counseling.

Oak City partners with Pharaoh’s Daughter by providing volunteers and gathering donations for the moms and children participating in their program. To learn more about how you can get involved, contact Meg Anderson.
